Street Magic - The Levitation

This, if done right, is a very impressive trick and requires no props at all.

The basics of the trick involve rising on your toes but only on one foot.
Your audience should be at least 10 feet away from you and as close together as possible keeping their viewing angle limited. You stand 45 degrees to them so that the foot, on which toes you lift yourself, is obscured. Keep your feet pushed together and raise up on the toes of the foot furthest from your audience lifting your other foot totally from the floor. All they will see is your first foot totally lifted off the floor and the heel of your other foot lifting with it giving the impression that you're levitating.
You only need to lift up a few inches. Practice it first. You'll find that it's hard to balance once you're on your toes and will normally want to fall forwards pretty quick - this is fine.

Tips:

- To get your audience to huddle together and stay within a limited viewing range you can make up some spiel about needing their energy and concentration together to help levitate you.

- Make out you need a lot of power to do it and it saps your energy, this will cover for the fact that you're only up in the air for a couple of seconds before you fall down again.

Note: If you saw this trick on TV and they showed both feet lifting off the ground that was an edited piece of filming where they use a winch to really lift the guy in the air and then paste it into into the real footage.
