Street Magic - Cigarette through Coin Trick

This trick uses a specially adapted coin. The coin has a sprung trapdoor middle the size of a cigarette. These coins are available from many magic/trick shops online (see right column).

Preferably ask your audience for a cigarette and the required coin. You will then need to swap the coin provided for the trick coin (see Tips below)
Then light the cigarette and slowly push it against the trick coin centre making sure that the back side of the coin is not visible to the audience yet.
Do this slowly, twirling the cigarette as you do it making out the heat is melting through the cigarette. Pointing the coin and cigarette towards your audience, note which side the trap door is hinging at so when you show the coin sideways, as the cigarette comes out the other end, the trapdoor won't be seen by your audience.

After amazing your audience slowly pull the cigarette back out. As the trapdoor closes and the front of the cigarette rests on the face of the coin, rub and twirl the cigarette end against the coin face making out your sealing the hole with it. Then remove the cigarette completely and amaze them once again.

Tips:

- Have your own cigarette ready if your audience don't have one, but getting one off your audience always reassures them that there is nothing dodgy about your one.

- Getting a coin off your audience is always a good method too but you need to be able to swap this coin for your trick coin. This takes practice and can be done in various ways - see here

- Sometimes the coin from your audience may be more or less tarnished than your trick coin which will give the game away. To avoid this have one proper coin similar to your trick coin and pass that to your audience to check before you start.
